The Biggest News in Provo Since They Ended Polygamy

The BYU-Oklahoma game was... incredible. I just want to broadcast on the record that while everyone else doubted, I knew they would win. I won't go so far as to say it was inspiration, but...

Anyway, the point that I want to make is that if BYU can beat Oklahoma anything can happen to this team. Max Hall could make it through an important game without throwing two interceptions. He could throw to more than two receivers. Pitta could even go a game without losing his helmet.

As a matter of fact, anything could happen in the world. The Seahawks could win the Super Bowl. Shayla could find a job in Provo that doesn't have to do with mass-producing food. We could have peace in the Middle East. I could graduate from college.

Another practical thing we could take away from this game is that the old adage still holds true: "Injure the opponent's Heisman-winning quarterback and you will be able to win with any mediocre offensive effort."

Prediction: We will hear very similar, mostly positive things about the ramifications of BYU's win on every sports and news channel non-stop until about Thursday of next week. On Thursday or so that won't be news anymore, so there will be a surge of improbable, negative possible-outcomes (the dissenting opinion) that will be the center of BYU-related talk on sports stations and in all the local sports news. This will last until BYU destroys Tulane and the cycle will start over again.
